Here’s another interesting journal published by the Asian EFL Journal in February 2006 about the experience of learning English in China from a summer English Language camp perspective.
The conclusion suggests that summer camps such as the one described in the journal has ”great potential to provide rich opportunities for exchanging individual world views, promoting cultural understandings, experiencing professional and personal growth, and fostering meaningful and lasting friendships across cultures.” Radical!
Again, I am fascinated by the shift in consciousness from learning a language for academic merit to learning a language for personal growth.
